personal growth, failing gracefully, fulfillment, joy, patience, resilience, adaptability, courage, discovering individual gifts, talents, interests, purpose, confidence, and more...
traditional core subjects like math, science, writing, history, and language will be covered within the learning of these skills so that there can be a clear understanding of life application, genuine interest, and an unmeasurable ability to apply that knowledge to new situations in the future. We do not use tests, exams, or grades. Instead, we look for growth, achievement, and application of skills to determine if students "got it" or "don't got it". Once they "got it," they will level up to practice their new skill. Once they are sufficiently and repeatedly showing a clear understanding of the skill, they will Level Up and be invited to lead other students on the topic. Once we see growth, achievement, and application of skills like leadership, confidence, communication, and encouragement between the students, the student will Level Up again taking on more responsibility in that area and finally Leveling Up one last time in that skill area into mastery where they find new ways to use this skill as efficiently as possible. Very often many skills will overlap, come up, or combine during a learning day and over the weeks to come. It may take weeks or months for a student to level up in one area while excelling at others. This is why we follow an Unschooling format that's based on the individual learner, not the instructor's pace, but within our intentional and proprietary framework. Once a student has reached all the levels for each skill they will Level Out. Once they Level Out of a set number of skills in each area and are 16 years or older, they will be invited to graduate with a full transcript & diploma recognized and welcomed by the vast majority of colleges and universities.
